Online Settings: testing the serial communication port

Do not perform this test. Siemens personnel or computer professionals must perform this test to avoid damage to the analyzer.

1. Log on as tech_manager.

2. At the Menu Panel, select Set up, then select Online Settings.

3. Select Loop back test.

4. Insert the loop-back test connector into the communications port.

5. Enter the character string you want to transmit.

·   Use the dialog box buttons to enter the control codes.

·   Use the keyboard to enter the regular character codes.

The characters you enter display in the upper text box.

6. Select Test execute.

The received characters display in the lower text box. The test status displays in the Execution results box.

7. To close the window, select Exit.

8. To close the dialog box, select Exit.
