Analytical Parameters (Serum) window

Use the Analytical Parameters (Serum) window to set the parameters for evaluating the serum indices (lipemia, hemolysis, and icterus).

Perform the following tasks at this window:

·   Define up to five different flagging levels of concern for each serum index.

·   Select a test  to perform the serum indices analyses, and enter the factor values required to calculate the serum indices result values.

Operation of the serum indices feature is controlled in the Serum set area of the System Specifications Settings window.

Use the following procedure to obtain the same flagging levels used by Siemens when evaluating method serum interferences.

  1. Log on as supervisor.

  2. At the Menu Panel, select Set up, then select Analytical Parameters (Serum).

  3. In the Analysis condition area, define the settings for lipemia (Lipe):

  1. In the Digits box, enter 1.

  2. In the Quali.judg. list, select Do.

  3. Select Qualit.set.

  4. In the Qualitative Judgment Set dialog box, enter the following values in the Characters and Border values boxes:

  1. Select OK.

  1. In the Analysis condition area, define the settings for hemolysis (Hemo)::  

  1. In the Digits box, enter 1.

  2. In the Quali.judg. list, select Do.

  3. Select Qualit.set.

  4. In the Qualitative Judgment Set dialog box, enter the following values in the Characters and Border values boxes:

  1. Select OK.

  1. In the Analysis condition area for icterus (Icte):  

  1. In the Digits box, enter 1.

  2. In the Quali.judg. list, select Do.

  3. Select Qualit.set.

  4. In the Qualitative Judgment Set dialog box, enter the following values in the Characters and Border values boxes:

  1. Select OK.

  2. Assign tests to run serum indices by entering the following values in the Test item. and Factor a through Factor f boxes.
