QC Menu: Control Data Setup window

Use the Control Data Setup window to manually enter the control average and 1SD (standard deviation) limits for evaluation of the daily and the cumulative control statistics. Typically, you enter values obtained from the package insert of a commercial control.

You can also obtain the control average and 1SD values from the actual control results using the Daily Precision Control and QC Cumulative windows, and then allow the system to load them automatically into the Control Data Setup window. For example: use the procedures to enter data for a pool of patient samples you want to run as a control.

Using the Control Data Setup window:

  1. At the Menu Panel, select QC, then select Control Data Setup.

  2. Perform any of the following tasks on this window:

Enter the average and 1SD values

Print control data registration information

Delete control data registration information

Copy control data registration information

  1. Close the window.

Entering the average and 1SD values

  1. In the drop down list box, select the control product.

Control products are assigned in the QC Sample Definition window.

  1. In the Daily QC area for each test, enter the Average and the 1SD values.

  2. In the QC Cumulative area for each test, enter the Average and the 1SD values.

You can use the copy feature to copy entries from the Daily QC area to the QC cumulative area and vice versa. If the respective data is similar, this can save time.

  1. Enter the control’s lot number and expiration date in the Lot No./Exp. Date box.

If needed, enter a comment in the Comment box. This information displays in the QC Sample Definition window.

  1. Select Save.

  2. To confirm, select Yes.

Printing the control data registration information

  1. Select Print.

  2. In the Control type set area, select the control information you want to print.

  3. Select OK.

Deleting the control registration information

  1. Select Clear.

  2. In the Control Type set area, select the control information you want to delete.

  3. Select OK.

Copying control registration information

  1. Enter the Daily or QC Cumulative information as applicable.

  2. Select Copy.

  3. Proceed as applicable:

·    To copy the daily information you just entered into the Cumulative QC columns, select To QC Cumulative from Daily QC.

·    To copy the cumulative information you just entered into the Daily QC columns, select To Daily QC from QC Cumulative .

  1. Select OK.

  2. Select Save.

  3. Make any required changes to the copied information.
