Reaction Monitor window

Use this window to observe changes in reaction data. The system depicts the changes as a function of time, or of the 98 detection points in an analysis.

In the window, you select a test and a sample for which you want to display a reaction over time. Once you make your choice, a graph is created. You can select several plots for the graph.

Using the Reaction Monitor window

  1. At the Menu Panel, select Request, then select Reaction Monitor.

  2. Perform any of the following tasks at this window:

Check test reaction data over time

Show the reaction data

Check the time courses for all wavelengths

Check cell blank values

Change the scale of absorbance graph

Create a file containing test data

Print the data list

  1. Close the window.

Checking test reaction data over time

  1. In the Date, Sample type, and Sample list fields, specify the sample you want to create a chart for.

  2. From the Test Name list, select the test you want to base the chart on.

The reaction data over time is now displayed in two areas:

Reaction process data information

Absorbance chart

Showing the reaction data

Use this procedure to show the data that makes up the time charts created in the Reaction Monitor window.

  1. At the Reaction Monitor window, select the test and sample for the time chart you want the system to display.

  2. Select Data List.

  3. The Data List window displays the reaction data for the requested test and sample.

  4. Print the data list, or select Return to return to the Reaction Monitor window.

Checking the time courses for all wavelengths

  1. At the Reaction Monitor window, select the test and sample for the time chart you want the system to display.

  2. Select 14WL monitor.

  3. At the 14WL Reaction Process Monitor window, set the Display conditions and the Display wavelengths.

  4. Select Display switch.

The window displays the reaction data with the settings you just specified. The data applies to the test and sample selected earlier.

Example of chart in 14WL Reaction Process Monitor window

  1. To return to the Reaction Monitor window, select Return.

Checking cell blank values

  1. At the Reaction Monitor window, select the test and sample for the time chart you want the system to display.

  2. Select Cell blank.

The Cell Blank window displays cell blank values for this reaction and the previous reaction.

  1. To return to the Reaction Monitor window, select Return.

Changing the scale of absorbance graph

  1. At the Reaction Monitor window, select the test and sample for the time chart you want the system to display.

  2. Select Scale change.

  3. At the Scale window, set the x axis and the y axis.

  4. To return to the Reaction Monitor window, select OK.

The absorbance graph displays with the new scale.

Creating a file containing test data

  1. At the Reaction Monitor window, select the test and sample for the time chart you want the system to display.

  2. Select Create Data File.

  3. At the Data File Creating window, select a sample type, date, test, wavelength, and range for the information you want in the file.

  4. To create the file, select Execute.

The new file is called datalist.txt and is located in the c:\temp folder.

Printing the data list

  1. At the Reaction Monitor window, select the test and sample for the time chart you want the system to display.

  2. Select Data Print.

or

Select Data List then, in the Data List window, select Print.

  1. At the Data List Print Select window, select the tests you want to print (Main WL data, Sub-WL data, Calc.WL data). You can select the tests in any combination.

  2. Select OK.

The requested information begins printing.
