Reagent Container Settings window

Use this window to enter and display information for non-barcoded reagent containers and start their Days Remaining counter. The system automatically updates this window for barcoded reagents.

This information is used by the Reagent Inventory window.

Using the Reagent Container Settings window

  1. At the Menu Panel, select Reagent, then select Reagent Container Settings.

  2. At the Reagent Container Settings window, select a tray in the RTT select field.

  3. Perform any of the following tasks on this window:

Set the reagent container type, lot #, and expiration date

Start the Days Remaining counter for non-barcoded reagent containers

Print the settings

Clear the settings

  1. Close the window.

Setting the non-barcoded reagent container type, lot #, and expiration date

Use this procedure if the reagent does not have a barcode (that is, non-Siemens reagents).

  1. Minimize the Reagent Inventory window.

  2. Select a Container, enter a Lot#, and enter an Exp. Date.

(Optional) Add a Comment.

  1. Select the O (Open) button.

A smaller Reagent Container Settings window opens.

  1. Select the information for the non-barcoded reagent container.

  2. Select Save.

  3. When prompted, select Yes.

Starting the Days Remaining counter for non-barcoded reagent containers

Use this procedure to initialize the on-system stability countdown for non-barcoded reagent containers.

NOTE

The system enables the reagent’s Open button if the message No Barcode displays in the Reagent bar code read status field. Before the system can "open" a reagent, you must enter a Days Remaining value in the Reagent Information window.

  1. Select the Open button for the non-barcoded reagent.

The Reagent Container Settings window opens.

  1. Select the R-code for the reagent you want to initialize.

  2. Select OK.

The reagent is opened. The Days Remaining value for the opened reagent displays in the Reagent Inventory window.

Printing the settings

  1. Select Print.

  2. At the Print window, select Execute.

This prints settings for all positions in the Reagent Container Settings window.

  1. To print settings for a specific position, select Specified no. and enter the position number in the appropriate box (RTT1 or RTT2).

  2. Select Execute.

Clearing the settings

  1. Select Clear.

  2. At the Clear window, select Execute.

This clears all settings in the Reagent Container Setting window.

  1. To clear settings for a specific position, select Specified no. and enter the position number in the appropriate box (RTT1 or RTT2).

  2. Select Execute.
