Replace the lamp
· Quarterly
· After approximately 2000 hours of use
· If the system warns that lamp energy is out of range
· If the Checking Lamp Energy procedure indicates that the AD points are outside the ±40 range of the scatter plot center line
· If the ATTENU(%) for any of the 14 wavelengths on the Lamp Check Energy window falls below 80%

Put the system in Standby mode.
Open the analyzer upper right front door to expose the lamp housing.
WARNING
The lamp housing is hot. To avoid burns, allow it to cool down (approximately 10 minutes) before touching any components.
Loosen the lead wire connectors (1 and 2) and remove the wires.
Unfasten the lamp screws (3) on the plate (4) and remove the halogen lamp from the housing. Be careful not to drop the screws.
When installing the new lamp, align the hole (5) to the guide pin.
Caution
To avoid damaging the lamp, do not touch the glass portion of the lamp.
If the lamp is dirty, clean it using lint-free toweling moistened with ethanol.
Install the lamp screws.
Install the lead wires and fasten the knobs.
Replace the access panel.
Return the system to Operating mode.
Wait 40 minutes for the lamp to stabilize.
Then, check the lamp energy.
Perform the cell blank measurement test.
NOTE
Siemens recommends that the assays on the system be calibrated after the lamp is replaced.
Run controls to verify that all assays are within the laboratory’s established control ranges.
